    b. There is a $25 late fee

Arrival

There is an attendance form for you to sign each time you bring your child for care. I do not assume responsibility for your child until he or she has been signed in by you.

I do not accept children who are possibly contagious. Signs of a contagious illness may include vomiting, fever, diarrhea, bad colds, flu, neck swelling, as well as symptoms of common childhood diseases. If your child is sick enough that you find yourself wondering if I will accept him or her, it is probably best to keep the child home. If all parents cooperate with this rule, you will be protecting one another’s children.

Toys and other personal belongings

TI encourage your child to bring a favorite item from home to help in his or her separation from you. However, I will not be responsible if an item becomes accidentally broken or lost. I will do my best to prevent this from happening.

Infant food

If your child is under one year of age, you need to bring formula, bottles and baby food, or other food that your child eats. After his or her first birthday, I will provide the snacks. Then you are expected to continue bringing the food. There should always be two extra day’s supply on hand for emergency use (as part of our disaster preparation plan).

Toilet training

I will work with you to develop a plan when your child is ready for toilet training. In the meantime, I expect you to provide disposable diapers or subscribe to a diaper service. I also expect you to bring diaper wipes and any other items you wish me to use for your baby.

Walking trips in my neighborhood

Sometimes we will be taking walks around my immediate area. These walks are covered by the blanket permission you will sign with your enrollment papers.

Photographs

Sometimes I may wish to photograph or videotape the children for my records or for your viewing. Permission to do so will be covered with your enrollment papers.

Injury and illness

I will determine the action to be taken in cases of illness or injury in my home. Permission for me to so will be covered with your enrollment papers.

Calls to pick up a sick or injured child

You will be telephoned to pick up your child, if needed, if he or she becomes sick at my home or if he or she is injured and needs immediate medical attention. In case of serious injury, 911 will be called first, then you will be called.

Emergency information

The emergency card you fill out with your enrollment papers must be kept up-to-date so that I can contact you at any time. Please keep me informed of new telephone numbers, addresses, or jobs.

Who picks up your child

Your child will only be released to you or to persons whose names are on your emergency information cards. Under no circumstances will anyone else be allowed to pick up your child unless I have direct permission from you, either by note or telephone.

Court orders

If there is a court order keeping one parent or guardian away from the child, I must have a written note from the custodial parent or guardian in my file to that effect. Otherwise, I cannot prevent the non-custodial person from picking up the child.

Television

I am aware that there are some excellent children’s television program, I will invite children to watch only those programs that fall into this carefully selected category. However, television time will be kept to a minimum. The interaction children have with one another is more important.

Discipline

I use positive methods of discipline. I do not punish children for behaving as children. I always teach children safety rules to keep them from not getting hurt. Then, according to their age, I help them learn to be kind, take turns, share, and help others.

Birthdays

When it is your child’s birthday, I will have special activities planned to his or her honor all day long. You may bring a birthday treat, such as a birthday cake (banana bread or carrot cake only), oatmeal cookies, fruit cups, or some other nutritious treat. I will provide everything else needed for our celebration.

Confidentiality

All information that may come my way concerning individual persons and their families is kept confidential.
